AERO MEDICAL LABORATORY(航空医学研究所）は、パイロットが任務をより効率良く機能的に遂行出来ることを目的として常に研究が進められている。ある一定の期間に限定したパイロット達を対象に改良の余地があるかどうかなどのアンケートをとる。そのアンケートの意見を分析し、要望を統合して試作品が作られる。その試作品には、“テストサンプル”のラベルが縫い付けられ、アンケートに答えたパイロットに支給される。彼らはそれを試用し、与えられた用紙に再び記入し、航空医学研究所に返却する。その返却されたサンプルを分析し、正式にスペックが制定される。開発は常に急務であることと正式なスペック前という状況から、後の官給品と比較すると相違点が多々見受けられることがある。微妙な型の違いやディテールの違い、時には量産型で採用された色とは異なるものまで存在している。

The Aero Medical Laboratory frequently undertakes studies in order for pilots to carry out duties more functionally and efficiently. To identify any room for improvements, surveys were taken by selected pilots within a specific period and feedback from the surveys were analyzed and requests were integrated to create prototype. A label “TEST SAMPLE” is sewed on to the prototype and given to pilots who’ve participated in the survey. One again, they will wear the prototype, fill out a from which is then returned to the Aero Madical Laboratory. The returned prototype is analyzed again and specifications are decided. Development for samples always requires urgency and in a state where specification are not finalized, many differences are seen when comparing it with what was officially distributed, such as the detailing, pattern and some with material changed completely.
